Biostar Sm Bus Controller Driver
Hi, everyone. Thank you in advance for your help and attention to this matter.
I currently own a Sony Vaio VGN-N365E running Windows XP (it shipping with Windows Vista) and have noticed in the Device Manager that I have an alert about the 'SM Bus Controller' (I have posted a screenshot here). When right-clicking on the SM Bus Controller and clicking 'Properties,' I receive the following dialogue: 'The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 2.'
So, I downloaded CPU-Z to find out exactly what type of motherboard I have and here is the screenshot of it. I have an 'i945GM.'
So, I went to Intel's website and used their 'Intel Driver Update Utility' to sort out my drivers and see what needs to be updated/installed. Here is a screenshot from the Update Utility, which basically says that both of my Intel drivers are perfectly fine.
In any case, I went ahead and re-installed the driver for the chipset. The file was called 'winxp_14324.exe,' if that helps.
So, does anyone have a suggestion of what I might do to resolve this issue? If additional information is needed, I will supply it. Thank you so much.
